LET’S NOT LIONIZE TERRORISTS AND OUTRIGHT FRAUDSTERS

A few weeks ago, in a James Bond-style operation Rwanda’s elite crack intelligence services nabbed one avowed terrorist and brought him back to Rwanda to face justice.

This must give his co-conspirators like Nyamwasa, and Rusesabagina and others sleepless nights. You cannot underestimate the resolve and professionalism of Rwanda’s intelligence services. There are consequences to treason and plotting against a sovereign state.

Those who cry foul against Rwanda pursuing those who plot and seek to destabilize her ought to take a deep breath: the CIA does the same. Mossad has perfected the art of hunting down Nazis. Why shouldn’t Rwanda do the same?

Callixte Nsabimana is nothing but a terrorist, a common criminal who has hidden his criminality in so-called attempts to “liberate” Rwanda.

Nsabimana Callixte in Court in Kigali, Rwanda

For the last few years Nsabimana has been the spokesperson for the ragtag National Liberation Front (FLN), a terrorist organization engaged in attacking and destabilizing Rwanda. It is headed by another misfit, Paul Rusesabagina.

This man claimed to have captured Nyungwe, just a figment of his imagination intended to boost the morale of his murderous gang of genocidaires.

The sad part of all this is that Nsabimana’s entire family was butchered by INTERAHAMWE, the same cabal he is now in bed with.

Appearing in court not long ago and looking sheepishly, Nsabimana pleaded guilty to all 16 charges leveled against him : among them, murder, looting, rape, destruction of property and violating Rwanda’s sovereignty.

Did I mention that he spilt the beans and told court that his criminal operations were facilitated by Uganda and Burundi?

What is bothersome is that Nsabimana elevated himself to the level of the late Bukinabe revolutionary and President of Burkina Faso, Thomas Sankara and the media fell for the trap, constantly referring to him as “Callixte Nsabimana Sankara.”

By so doing the media exhibited poor judgment and elevated a common criminal and terrorist to stardom he neither has earned or deserves.

Thomas Sankara, the Burkinabe Revolutionary

Thomas Sankara was a young charismatic revolutionary who sought to change the plight of his people, changed his country’s name from Upper Volta to Burkina Faso — Land of Upright Men. He was an avowed anti-imperialist, eventually earning the accolade “AFRICA’S CHE GUEVARA.” A true symbol of a proud young Africa.

At the time of his assasination, Sankara’s only worldly belongings were a guitar, and a second-hand Renault 5, and lived in a rundown presidential palace.

Callixte Nsabimana is no Sankara, not by any stretch of the imagination, and referring to him as such is a cruel and shameful assault on the memory and legacy of one of Africa’s best.
