WHITE HO– USE CONSUMED BY SCANDAL AND INCOMPETENCE

The man who allegedly called his boss a “moron” has been fired in Idi Amin fashion: without ceremony, and over the airwaves.

Rex Tillerson who served as Secretary of State, and fourth in succession to the presidency was yesterday humiliated upon landing at Andrews Airforce Base from an official visit to Nigeria and learnt he no longer has a job. His last day is March 31.

But don’t shed tears for the former ExxonMobil CEO: he is reportedly worth $300 million.

Questioned time and time again if he called the president a moron, Tillerson neither denied or admitted using the cute name. A real diplomat.

The fourteen month relationship with President Trump was defined by mutual animosity and frustration. Trump called Tillerson weak and constantly mocked his mannerisms and Texan drawl. Initially he was drawn to him because of his corporate ties and international connections.

In a nutshell, Tillerson’s firing says that in order to work with Trump you have to tow the line and can never question his policies.

But there has never been a White House in this much turmoil. In the thirteen months he has been in power, Trump has lost a Chief of Staff, National Security Advisor, Secretary of Health and Human Services, White Communications Director and the list is endless. And there is still another three years in this term. God forbid there is a second term.

Many are now wondering if he will lose his mind on top of all this.

One fact is clear: Trump is no man of the people. He run as a populist, but that was then. His cabinet is made of billionaires and millionaires, reportedly with a net worth of $4.5 billion.

So much for his mantra “Make America Great Again.”

America’s allies don’t know what to make of President Trump’s un-predictability and off the curf remarks that show no respect to decorum or diplomacy. His penchant for abusing fellow world leaders have left many scratching their head. America has never faced a crisis of leadership like today with a man in the Oval Office with no clear understanding of what it means to be leader of the Free World.

Nothing worries diplomats and other observers like the scheduled meeting between Trump and the mercurial and un-predictable North Korean dictator. Trump is not known for discipline, especially in sensitive and strategic negotiations. Kim Jong-un could easily beat him hands down, after all he has managed to convene this meeting that all other American presidents avoided.

Much is at stake, and will remain so as Donald Trump remains in the Oval Office. We have cause to worry.
