KAMALA HARRIS: Trump has got The Blues

The other day, former Vice President Joe Biden announced his selection of Sen Kamala Harris (D) of California as his running mate in this year’s presidential election to be held November 3. This is big news, and here is why.

Donald Trump is scared stiff. And how do I know this?

Whenever Trump is scared he resorts to using street language, especially when he is talking about strong and accomplished women.

Joe Biden & Kamala Harris

Soon after Joe Biden announced his selection of his running mate, Trump rushed to the microphones and called Harris “nasty”, a “liar”, “mean”. None of this is surprising. This is vintage Trump, and according to his only Niece, Dr Mary Trump, (a clinical psychologist) who has just published a book, “Too Much and Never Enough” Trump has no regard for the opposite sex, and never has.

Trump has also talked demeaningly of Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, mocking them for being in poor health and un-ashamedly saying he looks forward to replacing them before he leaves office.

Alas, the election is 81 days away.

But Kamala Harris is as tough as nails, has been around the block and has a thick skin and can handle Trump’s childish taunts and un -presidential language and behavior. We have never seen anything like this before from the occupant of the Oval Office.

Joe Biden is 77 and will be the oldest president ever when/if he assumes office. Harris is twenty years younger. Why does this matter? Well, she will appeal to a younger generation and, god forbid anything happens to Biden, she is well qualified to assume the presidency.

She was the first black woman District Attorney for the City of San Francisco in 2003, as well as the Attorney General of the most populous State from 2011-2017. Nothing has ever been handed to her on a silver platter, unlike Donald Trump who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and a disgusting and stinking attitude about those who are less fortunate than him.

Trump’s continued attacks on Harris will surely backfire. She is the first black woman to ever run for Vice President, and Trump’s insults will only confirm what the country already knows. The man is a racist, a bigot and disparages women.

When asked why he contributed $6,000 to Harris’ campaign when she was running for Attorney General in California in 2011, Trump said that proves he is not a racist. That is the logic in Trump’s orbit. Never mind that he has been sued for discriminating against renting to minorities in his apartment buildings.

This upcoming election is more of a referendum than anything else. The last four years of Trump’s administration have been a disaster — the worst presidency ever. There are currently 32 million Americans out of jobs, the country is experiencing the worst recession in decades, and over 160,000 Americans have died due to the COVID-19 pandemic due to Trump’s mismanagement and subscription to bogus and bizarre science.

Kamala Harris will strengthen Biden’s candidacy to bring Trump down and retire him back to Mar-a-Largo at his estate where he can spend the remainder of his remaining years licking his wounds for what he has done to the country.

As a daughter of immigrants, a Jamaican father and an Indian mother, Harris will appeal to immigrants who have been disparaged and mistreated by Trump, (never mind that Melania Trump is from Slovenia, and obtained her citizenship under dubious circumstances) and whose growing numbers across the country can no longer be ignored at the ballot box.

Harris will also appeal to women, and I dare say, because of her, every black will vote for the ticket.

In Trump’s America, the country is so divided along ethnic and religious lines like never before. Kamala Harris is married to a white Jewish man, and this might attract the Jewish vote. I am just saying.

A running mate has never been an important factor in electing a president. But nothing is off the table in these troubled and fucked up times Donald Trump has imposed on the country. All the evidence is in, and it is overwhelming. One can only hope the jury, electors, will come back with the correct and just verdict come November 3.

If not, Lord have mercy upon us all.
