Donald Trump’s grandfather, Friedrich Trump was born in Kallstadt in the Kingdom of Bavaria – present day Germany.
In 1886 he emigrated to America at age 16, without perfoming his mandatory military service. He worked odd jobs, and eventually became a barber’s apprentice.
In 1891 he moved to Washington State. In the the Klondike region he pursued a colorful career providing food, liquor and women to miners.
Yes, a fruit does not fall far from the tree.
1901 Friedrich Trump returned to New York, settling in the Woodhaven section of Queens where Donald Trump was raised.
1905 Trump returned to Germany with his wife and daughter, almost twent years after he left the country without fulfiling his military service obligation. Germans were none too pleased, and gave him 8 weeks to leave and denied him repatriation, also citing his failure to register his initial emigration to the US.
In a moving, almost tearful plea Trump wrote to Luitpold, Prince Regent of Bavaria, in the same tone that the DREAMERS are pleading with President Trump today. In part, he said, (translated from German):
”Most Serene, Most Powerful Prince Regent! Most Gracious Regent and Lord!
I was born in Kallstadt on March 14, 1869. My parents were honest, plain, pious vineyard workers. They strictly held me to everything good — to diligence and piety, to regular attendance in school and church, to absolute obedience toward high authority.”
How different grandpa was from The Donald.
Trump goes on, “ In 1902 I met my current wife. Sadly, she could not tolerate the climate in New York, and I went with my dear family back to Kallstadt.”
Stay with me : he left without fulfiling his military obligation.
Is it not amazing, that almost more than 100 years later Friedrich Trump’s grandson, President Donald trump, has imposed new immigration rules that would have kept his grandfather out of the US?
These rules would also have kept Trump’s former wife from Czechoslovakia and his current wife from Slovenia out of the US as well.
Keep in mind, Trump’s mother was born in Scotland and entered the US without legal papers. You can’t make this stuff up.
Friedrich Trump concluded his letter, thus;
” In this urgent situation I have no other recourse than to turn to our adored, noble, wise, and just sovereign lord, our exalted ruler His Royal Highness, highest of all, who has already dried so many tears, who has ruled so beneficially and justly and wisely and softly and is warmly and deeply loved with the most humble request that the highest of all will himself in mercy deign to allow the applicant to stay in the most gracious Kingdom of Bavaria
Your most humble and obedient,
Friedrich Trump”
I, too I am an immigrant. Mr. Trump, I beseech you, LET MY PEOPLE GO.
